This is a good, professional product. Unlike Paretologic's Xoftspy reviewed by DenComp1 - which seems to just look for tracking cookies and a few well known entries in the registry, and mostly comes up with false positives, 5 out of 15 on my machine - Spy Sweeper scans for and finds problems, shows you what they are & removes them. This is a useful tool & deserves its 4 stars. Steer clear of the other - if I'd followed Xoftspy's advice I'd have removed my video driver, Netscape configuration entries, and part of Visual Basic

I was going to order the paid version but decided to download the trial version first. The program seems to be easy to operate, maybe too easy, since after downloading and doing a scan Spy Sweeper found a multitude of files. Somehow while checking these files the program began deleting them and ended up deleting all of them. Everything seemed fine until I realized that IE6 didn't work anymore. Repeated emails to tech support were ignored! I was finally able to get IE6 working after spending several hours with Compaq tech support recreating files. I still get alarms now when Microsoft sends softwarre updates that cannot be installed due to missing files. I like the idea that spy sweeper runs in the background but I also wish they had better tech support.

I am a support analyst for a company with over 10,000 pc's and have been fighting spyware for quite some time now. SpySweeper is an excellent product if installed and configured properly like any other software. Those not technically inclined can not go wrong by running SpySweeper with all Shields turned on alongside a good Anti-Virus program.

Installed this app on my system with no problems, it works very well with AVG-Anti Virus with no conflicts and has found Spyware of many types on my system including a pesky, but dangerous keyboard logger. My only annoyance is the memory resident attempted Spyware monitoring feature. I can't figure out how to keep the optional Memory Shield control panel screen from popping up from time to time asking if I want to minimize the app window and allow Spysweeper to continue protecting my system. Besides this issue, I highly recommend this program for what it was meant to do.

I have tried Nortons;Spybot search and destroy and now spysweeper. This gives me regular auto updates and monitoring whilst online. Best of all it picked up on spyware the others missed, so for me this at present seems to be fine in my books.

This program is FANTASTIC for removing spyware & adware. I have used it on over 50 computers so far to provide active protection. After using SpyBot and AdAware for a long time it didn't take much for me to realize how much better this program is. I would rather pay for top quality than run 2 programs to do the job of 1 good one.
